Swimming and biking and running, oh my! A triathlon may seem overwhelming, but this plan will prepare you for an Olympic-distance race-usually a 1.5K swim, 40Kride, and 10Krun-in just 12 weeks. Besides the sense of accomplishment you'll feel, training will get you into the best shape of your life (win-win!). The Lake Tahoe Triathlon training plans are presented by Elite Triathlon Performance America (ETPA). Raeleigh Harris, Director and Head Coach of ETPA has spent more than 20 years competing and coaching in triathlons while the ETPA coach’s network draws on decades of experience in the sport in both the USA and Australia.
Designed for the NOVICE, INTERMEDIATE or ADVANCED level age group triathlete, Dave’s challenging training programs draw on his 40+ years of experience as an athlete and coach to help you successfully finish your race or maintain conditioning during the off season. Dave has developed different plans for different distances, abilities and training periods. The 3 sessions each week per discipline (swim, bike, run) include progressive workloads with unique marker sets, which will determine your optimal race pace. Long Brick workouts are included to enhance your race preparation by allowing you to monitor your nutritional needs.
Programs can be adjusted to fit your shortened training schedule if you miss the first few weeks. If you can complete 70%+ of the workouts, you will see results through race-simulated sets and bricks that replicate the physical and psychological tests of your race.
